Wednesday, September 6th: Archeological Excavations in the Ancient City of Pompeii

The tour includes a visit to the archaeological excavations of Pompeii, buried by the eruption of Mount Vesuvius in 79 A.D. Within the archaeological area we can admire the urban spaces of the Ancient City, such as the hole and some restored roman ‘domus’.

Wednesday, September 6th: Ancient City of Naples The guided tour wasn't activated because of the few members. Any subscribers will be refunded in cash on the first day of the Congress

The tour includes a visit to the Ancient City of Naples. Starting from Piazza del Gesù and via San Biagio dei Librai, known as "Spaccanapoli", we will arrive in Piazza San Domenico Maggiore; than we will continue on San Gregorio Armeno street, with its beautiful cribs, reaching Piazza San Gaetano, the ancient agape of Neapolis, to visit the Monumental complex of San Lorenzo Maggiore, in which it is possible to see the Roman ‘macellum’. The route will finish at the end of Via dei Tribunali with a visit to the multimedia museum of Banco di Napoli Historical Archives, named "Il Cartastorie", where we can see the volumes related to the activities of the old public banks of Naples since the beginning of the sixteenth century up to our days.

Saturday, September 9th: Monumental Naples

The tour includes a visit to the western part of the Historic Center of Naples. After visiting Castel Nuovo, known as ‘Maschio Angioino’, we’ll go down to the Municipio metro station to see the remains of the sixteenth century fortifications of the Castle. From Municipio Square the tour will continue to Toledo Street and the Umberto I Gallery, to reach then Plebiscito Square, with the church of San Francesco di Paola and the Royal Palace.

Sunday, September 10th: Capri Island

The tour, departing from Beverello pier and arriving at the Marina Grande, provides a visit to Capri. After taking the funicular, we’ll arrive in the famous Piazzetta, then we’ll reach the beautiful Augusto Gardens, from which it is possible to admire the most picturesque views of the island and the famous Krupp Street. Later there will be a visit to St. James’ Chartreuse, an extraordinary example of a religious architecture in Capri. After a free lunch, we can walk in the picturesque streets of this place.

Scholarships zone money

For the junior members who will submit the request the Università di Napoli Federico II, the Università della Campania Luigi Vanvitelli, the Università di Napoli Suor Orsola Benincasa, the Università di Napoli L’Orientale University of Naples Federico II, offer a 24 scholarships for participation in the conference of young scholars under the age of 35 (September 3, 2017).

 The scholarships, in terms and methods will be identified by the organizers on the basis of financial resources, are of two types and include hospitality for the nights of September 7th and 8th 2017 and / or the only exemption from the attendance at the Congress.

The scholarships do not include the cost of boarding, traveling and the membership fee at AISU.
